Geographic Information Systems

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are digital maps. They may incorporate the standard streets and place names of a traditional map. But a GIS system typically offers much more. It may incorporate aerial or satellite imagery, locations of underground utilities, street addresses, census data, water tables, and much more.

GIS systems may be used in navigation systems, for managing irrigation districts, property tax assessments, utilities systems management, environmental evaluations, and much more.
